Local housebuilder provides generous support to Chichester primary school
March CE Primary School in Chichester said they wouldn’t be in such a positive position without the support from leading housebuilder, Barratt Homes.
The primary school in Westhampnett, near to Barratt Homes’ Madgwick Park development, has benefitted from year-long practical help from creating the school’s peace garden to replacing old leaking sheds. They also offered several hours of people power at March’s community events, supplying lots of tea and coffee to the troops, and donated high vis jackets and bags so that the children can be safe on the way to and from school.
Barratt also stepped in when the school lost an entire boundary fence following storm damage, putting up a temporary fence that was replaced within hours by a permanent one – helping to keep the site secure and children safe.
Mrs Metcalfe, the school’s Head Teacher, is delighted with the help that the school has received and is very grateful for the collaboration with Barratt, which was arrange through Anthony Dimmick, Barratt Homes Community Liaison Manager.
She said: “It has been wonderful working with Anthony over the past year. He took the time to understand the pressures we were facing and he has been to see us many times. Whilst the practical support is much appreciated, it very much feels as though someone is working with you and supporting your school community, as the neighbourhood develops and takes shape around us.
“We’d also like to pass on our particular thanks to John – the Barratt Homes apprentice – who worked tirelessly on our peace garden and was a pleasure to have working with us.
“There’s no doubt we have received incredible support and without Barratt Homes we would not be in such a positive position now.
“It’s great to know that a large developer such as Barratt, invests in the neighbourhood and community relationships in this way. Thank you very much from the team at March School”
Anthony Dimmick, was thrilled at the response, and said: “As part of our commitment to help the communities we develop in, our relationship with March CE Primary School has gone from strength to strength. We are very happy to help where we can.”
Barratt Homes offers community support to schools and organisations in the area where it is building new homes. including the Barratt Homes’ Community Fund, which is a dedicated financial resource that helps to support local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.
