New app set to boost high street spending and ‘Perx up’ Sunderland retailers
Following a flurry of activity from the ParkingPerx team who have been out and about meeting Sunderland businesses over recent months, the launch of the innovative high street-boosting solution goes live later this year.
Many Sunderland businesses have already signed up after gaining a thorough understanding of how ParkingPerx will benefit their businesses.
2020 has changed the face of our high streets, as lockdown and localised restrictions has placed further pressure on already dwindling consumer numbers across the country. ParkingPerx is a unique loyalty app which rewards customers with free parking when they spend offline, offering a real boost through the promotion and reward of high street spending.
Motivated to drive city centre recovery, the app is designed to reunite shoppers with their favourite retailers, cafes and independent merchants to breathe life back into our local high street.
Chris Reed, founder and Managing Director at ParkingPerx, said: “The response from local businesses has been really positive, with businesses from a range of sectors signing up to date and the list is growing by the day.
“With the official launch just round the corner, we are keen to involve as many Sunderland-based businesses as possible. From retailers to restauranteurs, ParkingPerx presents an opportunity to drive footfall, increase spend and spark both new and repeat custom.”
The app registers what’s spent on a card as the customer shops as normal in their town centre, and converts their pounds in to Perx which can be used to pay for parking at the end of their trip, or banked for a future trip. Perx can be earned at any participating businesses including shops, cafés, cinemas, bars and professional services.
Businesses registered with the app control how and when it is used to reward customers to suit their particular trade or customer base, making ParkingPerx a win-win solution. Not only is the ParkingPerx app backed by the Sunderland BID team and Sunderland City Council, it’s also backed by former Dragon from BBC’s Dragon’s Den, Jenny Campbell. Jenny said: “From the minute I heard about ParkingPerx in the Den, I knew it was a game-changer. The unique app rewards your customers with free parking when they spend in your offline premises.
“And what’s more, you have full control of how the app works for your business and you only pay when customers spend with you. It’s a solution to help our town and city centres, and for that reason, I’m in!”
So, if you are a Sunderland-based business and haven’t yet had the chance to find out more about the benefits you can reap through as a ParkingPerx Business Partner, now is the perfect opportunity to do so.
The knowledgeable ParkingPerx team are ready to answer all the questions you may have about the app. Their diaries have been cleared so that they can dedicate these last pre-launch weeks to speak with Sunderland businesses ahead of the launch.
For any business which signs up pre-launch, ParkingPerx has an exclusive range of special incentives including being a part of the launch marketing campaign, featuring in the launch competition, discounted early adopter ad space on the app and much more.
