Emley score extended sponsorship with Hortor
Hortor, the global strategic resourcing specialist with UK headquarters in Leeds, has agreed to extend its sponsorship of Emley AFC for the new season after a successful 2019/2020 campaign.
Originally fighting for automatic promotion in the Division One of the North West Counties League prior to the Covid-19 crisis, Emley AFC has made a return to the Northern Counties East Division One.
At the beginning of the 2019 season, Hortor became a permanent fixture at Emley AFC’s home ground after striking a deal to sponsor the first team’s home kit, shed-end stand hoardings and the club’s popular café – the Dugout Diner, which has since been referred to as the Hortor Dugout Diner.
After surpassing all expectations in Division One North, which saw Emley hold the fourth position before the season was then abandoned, Hortor has decided to extend this successful partnership to continue to support the club for the entire 2020/2021 campaign.
Kicking off the new season on Tuesday 22nd September, Emley AFC donned the Hortor-branded football kits to mark opening night with an impressive 4-1 away victory against league favourites, Selby Town.
Joint CEO of Hortor, Andy Nicholson, comments: “The success of last season was an amazing achievement and just like everyone else involved with Emley AFC, Hortor was extremely proud to be part of it.
“Although the league was eventually cut short, Hortor took great pride in partnering with an organisation that made a positive impact within the local community, on and off the field. That being said, we believe that we have unfinished business with Emley!”
“As the club aims to make a triumphant return to the first division of the Northern Counties East League, we want to show our commitment to the supporters, players and coaches, by extending our sponsorship for the upcoming season.”
Emley AFC Club Chairman, Andrew Painten, comments: “Having the support of a global organisation like Hortor last season was a huge boost for the club. Their sponsorship deal not only enabled us to make several improvements on the pitch, but it also allowed our fans to have an enhanced experience during home games.
“Although we were disappointed not to be given the chance to secure promotion, the renewed sponsorship deal with Hortor has already been very encouraging for everyone at Emley. We are all looking forward to achieving similar success as we are set to get the Northern Counties East Division One campaign underway.”
