Leeds letting agent expands into Pennines with acquisition of 400 properties

A Leeds letting agent has announced that it is expanding into new towns following its latest acquisition. Linley & Simpson has acquired the lettings arm of independent agency Simon Blyth, bringing approximately 400 new properties into its portfolio.

The new properties allow the firm to expand across the eastern Pennines and South Yorkshire, and bring its portfolio to 10,500 homes.

It has also resulted in the company launching its latest high street branch, in Holmfirth near Huddersfield.

Will Linley, chief executive of Linley & Simpson, commented: “We are all thrilled to have acquired a rental portfolio from a market-leading agency of this calibre.

“For more than 30 years, the name of Simon Blyth has been a byword for all things property in these parts of Yorkshire.

“Extending our network in this way represents a perfect geographical fit. It enables us to reach into whole new swathes of Yorkshire – both in town centres and in the country, and featuring some real up-and-coming places.

“It equips us with the best possible platform on which to build further at pace and scale, through both acquisition and organic growth.

“Already, we are exploring a number of acquisition opportunities in this area as well as further afield – a signal of the continuing confidence we have in investing in the private rented sector.”
