Plans unveiled for new retail complex in North East development
Plans for a new retail complex in the North East have been revealed as part of a £15m redevelopment project.
Lambton Park, near Chester-le-Street, is opening up to the community as the plans for a retail complex and office space join the previously announced 109 new homes.
Miller Homes is creating the community of new homes, which has achieved a build milestone with the completion of the eastern side of Bowes Gate Drive, the new entrance into Lambton Park.
In addition to the housing, the next phase of the redevelopment of Lambton Estate will see the construction of a community hub adjacent to the home.
In response to an encouraging level of interest in retail space at Bowes Gate, the estate has brought forward its detailed viability work on the buildings with the intention of submitting a planning application before Christmas and starting construction next year.
Andrew Somerville, sales director at Miller Homes North East, commented: “Lambton Park is not only an incredibly special place in which to live, but it will be a fantastic place to work and visit.
“Our buyers aren’t just purchasing a home, they are joining an exciting new community and have exclusive access to beautiful walks around the estate.
“In the near future they should also have a great selection of amenities right on the doorstep. We are really looking forward to seeing the estate’s vision for Bowes Gate brought to life.”
