OVO Spaces expanding as it emerges from COVID-19 lockdown
SHEFFIELD commercial interior design and fit-out specialist OVO Spaces says it has emerged from the COVID-19 lockdown as strong as ever.
OVO Spaces is the one stop design and fit out specialist on projects for a wide range of leading companies, providing concept to conclusion building transformations for customers in the commercial, industrial, retail and public sectors.
The company, which is based at Victoria Quays close to Sheffield city centre, did furlough staff at the height of the pandemic.
OVO, like many companies, experienced a downturn in business but managed to continue working on sites with special measures in place and supported a number of clients, converting their existing spaces into COVID compliant working areas.
Director Rebecca Knight says the decision was made to get the team working again as quickly as possible, with the office re-opening at the beginning of June when the lockdown was lifted.
“Since returning to the office we are very happy to say that enquiry levels are definitely on the up,” she said.
“Projects that were stalled by Coronavirus are moving again and, even more importantly, we are winning new contracts.
“We have a number of jobs ready to go to site and we have work lined up into 2021 which, after the year everybody has experienced, is something we want to celebrate.
“In fact, we are now so confident for the future that we are also expanding the team and have just appointed a new Business Development Executive, Chris Wood, whose experience should prove invaluable in bringing in new contracts.”
One of the last projects the company completed before lockdown was the transformation of the former Gilders car workshop on Ecclesall Road South into a stylish new office suite for city chartered accountants Brown McLeod.
The last year also saw the OVO team complete work on restoration and refurbishment of the seven story former Midland Bank building - Deacon House - in Eyre Street.
Other recent clients include HLM Architects, NMCN, Mencap, Lambert Smith Hampton and the development of the acclaimed Park Hill Commercial Units in Sheffield.
