Chichester development supports a greener future by installing new vehicle chargers

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are showing their support for a greener future by installing over 100 electric vehicle (EV) chargers at their Madgwick Park development in Chichester.

This is a welcome addition to the five star housebuilders’ development for EV owners and one that goes some way to support future clean air targets.

The Government has recently announced that the ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars is being brought forward by five years to 2035. This is an ambitious move and one that needs support from the charging infrastructure – so another 107 chargers at a popular development in Chichester is a great step forward.

The chargers will be available at both the Barratt Homes and the David Wilson Homes site, 35 at the Barratt site, 72 at the David Wilson site at Madgwick Park – a development of three and four bedroom homes in Westhampnett, Chichester.

Tammy Bishop, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division, said: “We are pleased to be doing our bit for the environment, especially as attitudes are in-creasingly changing towards going green. We also wanted to support or our new homeowners at Madgwick Park into their decision to purchase an electric vehicle and ensure that the charg-ing infrastructure was there ready to go.”

Madgwick Park is a development of two, three and four bedroom homes close to all local con-veniences, such as shops and supermarkets. Whilst the development is on the edge of town, there are excellent commuter links into Chichester city centre and beyond via the A27. For those seeking more peace and tranquillity, the South Downs National Park is right on your doorstep.
