Yorkshire medical services firm doubles size in move to former Emmerdale site

A Yorkshire medical services company has moved into larger premises following an increase in demand.

Technomed, which was previously based in the Old Engine Room, has moved to Sunny Bank Mills at Farsley, where soap opera Emmerdale was filmed.

The increased demand for Technomed’s products has led to the company doubling the size of its offices at Sunny Bank.

Mark Pashley of Technomed commented: “Our ECG On-Demand service is CQC inspected and provides Holter and 12-lead ECG services to both NHS and private healthcare organisations.

“Due to the hard work and commitment of all the staff at Technomed, the business has been growing rapidly over the last few years.

“The global pandemic has provided an opportunity for us to expand our Holter (wearable ECG device) mail order service.

“Where patients would traditionally be required to attend an appointment at a hospital or medical practice for fitment, with waiting lists sometimes into months, and then a second appointment at a later date for removal, within days our service sends the device directly to the patient for self-fitting at home with remote assistance if required.

“After a pre-defined wear period (this varies from 24 hours to 21 days) the encrypted device is collected via courier, returned to us and then reported on by one of our UK-based SCST accredited Cardiac Physiologists.

“The reports are immediately available on our secure portal for the healthcare provider’s clinical staff to process and treat the patient as required with much faster turnaround times and increased patient safety.

“We are proud to play our part in supporting the NHS and private healthcare providers in these challenging times.

“Recently upgrading from our existing office at Sunny Bank Mills into a larger office within the site’s 1912 Mill building in order to meet our expansion requirements has been seamless.”

John Gaunt, joint managing director of Edwin Woodhouse, the owners of Sunny Bank Mills, said: “The success of Technomed, and their expansion within Sunny Bank Mills, gives us tremendous pleasure.

“We are delighted that we have been able to nurture Technomed and provide everything the company needs to succeed, especially amid this global pandemic.

“Technomed’s move to our iconic 1912 Mill is a resounding endorsement of our development of, and investment in, Sunny Bank.

“The refurbished 1912 Mill now has a number of quality occupiers, but 14,000 sq ft of very flexible Grade A office space is still available to lease”.

“During the past ten years the multi award-winning Sunny Bank Mills, one of the most famous family-owned mills in Yorkshire, has been transformed into a modern office complex for the 21st century.

“It is now home to 75 companies, who employ a total of nearly 400 staff.”
