Sky to open first retail shop in Liverpool ONE
Grosvenor Europe and Sky have announced that Sky is opening its first ever bricks and mortar retail shop in Liverpool ONE on 26 October.
The new Sky flagship retail concept on South John Street will bring Sky’s leading customer service and innovative pay TV, mobile and broadband products to the UK high street, under one roof, for the first time.
Created with customers’ needs in mind, the Sky shop will be separated into designated themed spaces, allowing customers to access advisors easily and safely across the shop. The shop will have a dedicated ‘Customer Hub’, encouraging new customers to speak to advisors about the latest Sky innovations. Existing customers will be able to speak to advisors and receive advice around their current products.
All Sky shops will operate in line with the Government’s Covid-19 safety measures, including strict social distancing, mandatory facemasks and hand sanitiser available across the shop.
The Liverpool ONE shop will also feature a dedicated ‘Access All Areas’ stage. This stage will host various interactive experiences for customers, creating moments that entertain and surprise, and will put customers at the centre of Sky’s extraordinary entertainment content.
The flagship shop will allow potential customers to test out Sky’s latest innovations first-hand, and will also feature an in-shop partnership with iSmash, the popular tech repair chain that currently operates 32 locations across the UK.
Matthew Price, Retail Director, Sky UK, said:
“Our new Sky shop will allow us to showcase the amazing benefits Sky has to offer to new and existing customers. Liverpool really stood out to us for this debut site and we’re pleased to be able to offer a safe environment in which people can shop for the latest innovative technology from Sky. We look forward to opening our doors and sharing the full experience with customers.”
Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management, Grosvenor Europe, commented:
“The Sky UK debut will be a great addition to Liverpool ONE and further bolster our flagship line-up. We are excited that Sky has selected Liverpool ONE for its first physical retail shop as this new concept will be a real draw for our visitors and provide a unique experience that is not available anywhere else. This signing, along with other recent openings at Liverpool ONE, highlights the continued importance of bricks and mortar presence for leading brands.”
Sky will join a series of new retail entrants at Liverpool ONE, including M·A·C Cosmetics’ new Liverpool flagship shop, world-renowned British toy emporium Hamleys on Paradise Street, and the newly unveiled debut concept for Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand on South John Street.
CBRE and Metis acted for Liverpool ONE. Colliers International represented Sky.
