Family-run Scott Bros continues long term support of Tees Valley Mohawks
Scott Bros has confirmed it is continuing its long association with Tees Valley Mohawks, as main sponsor for the under-18’s team for the 2020/2021 season.
The family-run firm has sponsored the ambitious NBL side for the past nine years and is keen to encourage its ongoing growth and development.
Scott Bros director Peter Scott said: “As a local firm we are delighted to continue to support Tees Valley Mohawks because it’s very much a community-orientated club. “It is dedicated to nurturing and supporting basketball talent and we feel it’s important to back clubs such as this that provide young people with invaluable life lessons.
“Although this season is going to be very different, we still look forward to following their success and championing them from a distance.”
Despite the covid restrictions and being unable to play in the Division 3 league during lockdown, the team spirit is being kept alive with community sessions and training in bubbles for all junior teams at its Middlesbrough College base.
Social media has also played an important part in keeping everyone connected with the club over the past seven months, with the Mohawks Bake Off and Mohawks Got Talent competitions creating huge interest on social media.
The Mohawks have U12, U14, U16 and U18 teams, together with women’s and men’s sides playing across local and national leagues. It also recently welcomed the Tees Valley Titans wheelchair team.
Steve Butler, chairman of Tees Valley Mohawks, said: “Sponsorship is vital for us as a club and we are extremely grateful for Scott Bros’ continued support. “Without such income our teams could not continue to train and play at the level we do or plan for the future.”
