New Long-term Agreement for Evides Industriewater with the World’s Largest Chemical Producer
One of Europe’s largest wastewater treatment and water reuse companies – Evides Industriewater – has secured an additional contract to continue to supply industrial water to Belgium’s largest chemical production centres.
Headquartered in Rotterdam and with operations across Europe, the business has signed a new long-term agreement with BASF which will see Evides Industriewater build a new demi water installation at the chemical firm’s site in Antwerp.
As the second largest site in the BASF Group - comprising fifty production sites - Evides Industriewater has been supplying process water and part of the demineralised water for the last decade. The company has played an integral role in helping BASF to be safe and sustainable with its water management at this largescale site which produces a range of products and chemicals delivered to processing sectors including automotive, construction, paper and leather manufacturing to food and pharmaceutical, as well as many more.
BASF prides itself on achieving the very highest standards – adhering to the European Water Stewardship – based on four principles including making use of sustainable water extraction, ensuring good water quality, maintaining protected areas, as well as continuous improvement of the processes.
As part of the contract Evides Industriewater will continue to turn these principles into reality, as well as research alongside BASF the further options for process optimisation and reuse of water to remain at the very forefront in its sustainability practices.
Over the past 12 months Evides Industriewater has opened a UK base as part of the company’s ambitious plans to strengthen its position in existing markets and open up new opportunities. Speaking about the new contract win, Colin Robinson, Director of Business Development for the UK operation said: “We are delighted to have secured this additional long-term contract and additional works to build a new demi water installation which will contribute towards the firm’s sustainability targets and make operations even more streamlined.
“The company has excelled in delivering the most innovative and forward-thinking solutions to BASF and continually supplied the correct quantity and quality of process and demi water as a seamless operation, which has allowed the firm to remain focussed on its core business. We have proven to be so much more than just a supplier, as we continue to act as a strategic cooperation partner for this major brand.”
Evides Industriewater has been operating in Rotterdam since 1968. The company prides itself on providing an entire water cycle for its industrial clients that improves the efficiency of business processes, reduces environmental impact and significantly reduces operational risk.
Evides Industriewater supplies 100.3 million m³ of process water and purifies 98.8 million m³ of wastewater every year.
The company boasts clients including BASF, Royal Dutch Shell, Huntsman and AkzoNobel amongst its extensive customer base and – on behalf of these – Evides Industriewater operates 77 water treatment, wastewater treatment and water reuse plants across Europe.
