From underdog to leading the pack and paving the way for other women to shine as leaders
Raimonda Jankunaite, founder of Women in Business Club is leading the way for thousands of women globally, to show them how they can re-write the male-dominated rule book.
Women have been seen and treated as less worthy than their male counterparts in the boardroom and in society for centuries. It’s an old paradigm that no longer serves the female population and Raimonda feels passionately about helping women become the changemakers and torchbearers that they’re destined to be.
It’s her mission to provide women with a framework, a structure and a community that encourages collaborative working and enables women to build a solid business foundation, to design and create the freedom lifestyle that will allow them to be successful, create income and wealth and leave a legacy behind them.
Speaking of her mission, Raimonda said: “Growing up as an immigrant in the UK meant that I always felt different to my peers. Like the odd one out. But I had huge amounts of belief and knew that I wanted to create success for myself and pave the way for others who may feel underdogs like myself. I decided to treat my differences as my superpowers.
When I started my first business at the age of 21, every networking meeting I attended was dominated by men, so I felt called to do something different that would serve women. I saw the power of women working together, so I created a collaborative platform that supports this mission and encourages women to be the best that they could be, in business and beyond.“
Raimonda launched Women in Business in 2017 after hosting an incredibly successful event in London specifically for women in business. She unintentionally stumbled upon a business idea, driven by the wants, needs and desires of other business women. She listened to other women, followed her values and created a business that was totally in alignment with her beliefs, so thousands of women can now enjoy this collaborative platform.
Research carried out by The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2019/2020 Report found that women are generally more purpose-driven than men, so they’re more likely to agree with the motivation of making a difference to the world.
“The narrative around gender equality and inclusivity will only change if we speak out about it. As women it’s our time to make a stand and re-write the rule book. For the longest time we have struggled with self-worth. We have taken on centuries old perceptions of who and what we can be, and took the beliefs of others and made them our own.
My biggest goal for 2021 is to break down the barriers that women are facing right now. To show women what they are capable of and help them rise, to become the leaders that the world needs right now. I want every woman with a dream to feel empowered to build her empire and believe that it’s possible. Kamala Harris has broken the glass ceiling, it’s time for us to show up, break more ceilings and make an impact.“ added Raimonda.
2021 is the year for women to demand change. To create change. To stand up and say that there are no longer female leaders, just leaders.
Today, Raimonda hosts live and virtual events and provides a platform for women to share their voice, to make an impact and inspire others to start their own business and reach for success with stories from women globally.
