Local housebuilder brings tea-licious donation to Acomb Court Care Home!
Barratt Developments North East has been giving back to key workers in Hexham by donating an afternoon tea experience to Acomb Court Care Home near its Woodland Rise development in Hexham, to thank them for their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The housebuilder worked with a local caterer, The Refectory Cafe at Hexham Abbey, to have an afternoon tea hamper delivered to the door of the care home, contact-free, for 30 members of staff and residents to enjoy. Delivered as a well deserved treat for the team and residents, the afternoon tea aimed to create an experience that alleviated some of the stresses experienced by everyone at the care home during lockdown and celebrate the fact the care home has remained Covid-free. The hamper contained a mixture of classic sandwiches and sweet treats including scones, flapjack, cupcakes and chocolate brownie.
On the donation Louise Clayton-Hibbott, Home Administrator at Acomb Court Care Home, said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has prevented our residents, and in some cases our staff, from seeing their families for a long time. The team at Acomb Court Care Home has worked incredibly hard during the pandemic, even managing to keep the home free from Coronavirus throughout the pandemic.
“We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the afternoon tea from Barratt Developments and want to say a big thank you for the donation!”
Ashlea Wright, Sales Manager at Woodland Rise, commented: “We are so pleased that the staff and residents at Acomb Court Care Home enjoyed the afternoon tea donation. NHS and key workers in the UK have worked tirelessly to keep us all safe, and we are so pleased that we were able to create an experience that they could enjoy to thank them for everything they have done!”
