Bdaily Festive Focus 2020: Christmas cheer in the face of an unprecedented year
There’s no doubt about it - 2020 saw the world shift in some of the most drastic ways in living memory.
Gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic, countries, economies and citizens around the world were rocked by the disruption of the coronavirus, which has resulted in more than 1.4 million fatalities globally.
Businesses and individuals alike had to very quickly adapt to unprecedented working and living conditions, the linchpin of which was the virtual landscape of the internet. This was no different in the North East, Yorkshire and London regions.
This year, the usual excitement of Christmas is inevitably shadowed by the uncertainty of a new type of festive season with restrictions and limitations. But 2020 has also proved that our regions possess a great deal of resilience, creativity and drive to overcome obstacles.
Every day during December, Bdaily will share the thoughts of business leaders from around our regions about how this year has shaped them, what their ideal Christmas looks like and what hopes they have for 2021 and beyond.
Check back tomorrow (December 1) for the first in our Festive Focus 2020 series.
