ActionCOACH Claims Major Accolade At Franchising Awards
James Burke of ActionCOACH Salford, has won the Franchisee Next Generation award at the 2020 bfa HSBC Franchise Awards, held virtually on 30 November.
The world’s number one business coaching firm, ActionCOACH makes a difference to the community, helping businesses to achieve their goals through tailored coaching. James Burke, MD and franchisee of ActionCOACH Salford faced multiple knockbacks but continued to fight for success, leading him to be a leader in the field. James Burke said: “I was inspired to become a franchisee because I wanted to make a difference in my community and the ActionCOACH franchise offered the support to do that more quickly than starting up on my own.
“Winning this award proves that everything I worked for has paid off, and the sky’s the limit for this brand and myself as a business owner.” The awards are the flagship event in the franchising calendar, with nominees and winners, proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff. This year the awards were postponed and held virtually, as the safety of everyone involved was of very high importance. Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association, said:
“James’ story is really inspiring. From being homeless and having real troubles in his life, he turned all of that around and more. At just 30-years-old, it’s great to see a really successful franchisee who continues to give back to the community win this accolade.
“There are more franchise systems than ever before, showing that businesses are choosing franchising as an ideal model for them. The fact ActionCOACH managed to win this accolade, when so many new companies are entering into franchising, is a testament to the company’s values and culture.” Andy Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising at HSBC, said:
“It was fantastic to hear from the Franchisee Next Generation finalists and learn about their journey into franchising. James and ActionCOACH impressed the judges with the passionate community focus of the business.
“It’s been a difficult year for all businesses, so we are pleased to see members of the franchise community thriving, having adapted to operate successfully despite the difficulties thrown their way.” ActionCOACH managed to stave off competition from four other shortlisted companies to claim the prize.
