Transition helpline to make Brexit easier for local businesses
Lemon Business Solutions has been appointed by Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) to operate a transition helpline to support local businesses through the final stages of Brexit.
Lemon Business Solutions, a business outsource partner based in Stockton, will be providing contact centre services to help firms based in Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees understand the new post-Brexit regulations.
The TVCA call lines went live on Monday 23 November and will be operative 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the foreseeable future.
The EU transition helpline will provide advice to businesses about changes that employers will need to make to continue to work with customers and suppliers in the EU from 1 January 2021. This guidance covers specific sector information, as well as accurate details about operations, such as exporting, importing, employment and business travel.
The contact centre will provide verbal guidance that will be followed up by an email containing the government checklist documentation. Agents will also be able to signpost businesses to further information and support relating to any particular business needs. If further advice is required, appointments with specialist advisors will be available for bookings.
Martin Anderson, managing director at Lemon Business Solutions, said: “Following the success of our work with TVCA on the COVID-19 business helpline, we’re delighted to have once again been asked to support local employers navigating the Brexit transition in the new year.
“We’re proud to be offering such an essential service to business leaders in Tees Valley and to be working with Mayor Houchen and his team on such an important project.
“We appreciate there are going to be a number of complex guidelines and regulations to explain, but we’re up for the challenge.”
Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor, said: “I’d like to extend my thanks to Lemon Business Solutions for once again supporting the businesses in Tees Valley during a time of change. Their work on the Coronavirus Business Support Helpline was excellent and I have every confidence it will be again.”
