Liverpool-based DAM Health UK announces expansion of clinics to Spain as company responds to huge international demand for private Covid-19 testing

Liverpool-based medical company DAM Health UK has announced an expansion of its Covid-19 testing clinics to Spain amidst growing international demand for testing.

The private medical company based on Rodney Street says demand for Covid-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing in Europe is ‘huge’ particularly amongst those travelling between the Spanish mainland and the UK.

The company, led by Professor Frank Joseph, says that a new ‘rapid testing’ clinic will open this week in Marbella - a resort well known for its population of British expats.

Government’s across Europe are advising against international travel but people who do travel are required to secure a negative PCR test result and provide ‘fit to fly’ test certificates upon arrival into most countries.

Free Covid testing in Spain is only available to people who are displaying symptoms.

DAM Health, who also provide protective medical equipment and PCR testing at workplaces across the UK, is also considering launching a testing centre in the Czech Republic as well as widening operations to London and Manchster.

DAM Health director Professor Frank Joseph said:

“Our priority is to provide fast and effective testing facilities to people in Spain and elsewhere in Europe who are struggling to secure rapid test results and ‘fit to fly’ certificates’. It is vital that people are tested before travelling. It is vital to stopping the spread of this virus. DAM Health has a major role to play to support people in other countries and we are seeing huge demand from people in Europe.

At home and abroad, we are providing reliable testing and are working hard to reduce the burden on the NHS.“

Commenting on DAM Health’s Covid-19 testing in Liverpool, he added:

“In Liverpool alone we have carried out around 5,000 PCR tests. People who are traveling are generally taking the appropriate steps to keep themselves and others safe.”
