John aims to deliver on quality service after launching oven valeting business Ovenu Bracknell

Logistics expert John Ariss is well-placed to deliver on exceptional customer service after launching oven valeting business Ovenu Bracknell.

An experienced management consultant in the transport and warehousing sector, he was inspired to diversify his career after speaking with father and son Ovenu franchisees Adam and Ryan Penniston, who operate businesses in nearby Wokingham and Maidenhead.

John, who hails from Bracknell and lives in Wokingham, said: “I know Adam and Ryan very well and whenever we meet up, they’re always enthusing about Ovenu and the benefits of being your own boss.

“The more I looked into it, the more I was convinced that I wanted to join this market leading franchise.”

He has already appointed subcontractor Rob Dance from Wokingham, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the cleaning industry.

Once established, John has ambitions to employ a third contractor to grow the business further.

He said: “Bracknell has experienced significant growth and regeneration in recent years, including a number of new housing developments, which provides a huge opportunity to grow our client base.

John, who has completed Ovenu’s extensive training programme, already has a healthy number of client bookings over the coming weeks.

He added: “It’s a little daunting to be launching a business during lockdown but I’m determined to succeed, and I have the necessary Covid-secure procedures in place to keep myself, Rob and our clients safe.”

“My previous career in logistics and warehousing means I’m highly organised and customer focused, skills that will benefit my new venture. Above all, I believe in offering a quality service.

The father-of one, whose partner Christele is a language teacher, takes over the Ovenu Bracknell business from former franchisee Mark Daniels who recently retired after 17 years.

As well as serving the town, Ovenu Bracknell also covers Ascot, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Sunningdale, Sunninghill and Virginia Water and surrounding areas. It is accepting bookings at its discretion, with the strict stipulation that both parties observe the two-metre social distancing rule, along with guidelines on hygiene and cleanliness.

Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of Ovenu, said: “Despite these challenging times, John has the necessary drive and determination to build a successful business.”
