Same-day courier firm to create over 150 new jobs with central London hub
A same-day courier business has announced the launch of a new hub in the heart of the capital.
Speedy Freight, which is part of Eddie Stobart, is set to launch its new Central London Hub this month.
Servicing Central, North, Northwest, South, East and West London, the new site is expected to generate over 150 new jobs.
The disruption of COVID-19 resulted in a growth of 39 per cent for the firm, as it diversified to offer new logistics and delivery solutions including supporting supermarket supply chains, carrying out home deliveries for retailers and transporting PPE, lab equipment and tests.
Jade Woollett, branch manager at the London Hub, commented: “This new hub is a huge investment for Speedy Freight, we’ve access to over 4000 vehicles, from small vans to Artics or heavy haulage, and we’re looking to forge partnerships with around 150 drivers in the London area, servicing the vast majority of London and the surrounding areas.
“I’m incredibly excited about the scale of the launch and the opportunities it presents for the surrounding community.”
