Anwyl Partnerships hand over £11.3m Warrington extra care scheme
Anwyl Partnerships has handed over its largest extra care scheme to date, an £11.3million facility in Warrington for North West housing group, Torus.
Harpers Green Extra Care Scheme on Harpers Road, Warrington, has opened its doors to new residents under a phased move-in approach. Comprising 97 one and two-bedroom apartments, the project is set across four-storeys on a 10,000 square metre site. It includes a central feature courtyard and a host of internal and external communal facilities including a bistro, hair salon and a community bowling green.
Work continued safely at the ambitious flagship scheme throughout the pandemic, including during lockdown, and has now reached a very successful handover.
Tom Anwyl, Managing Director at Anwyl Partnerships explained: “This is a brilliant extra care facility and one that the entire team is incredibly very proud of.
“Our team have retained an overarching commitment to delivering this project in the best possible timeframe despite the difficult circumstances of 2020. There is a clear gap in the local housing market for this type of housing, offering that vital combination of independent living for older people with an extra care provision in line with changing needs – this development undoubtedly meets these criteria.”
Managing Director of Torus Developments, Chris Bowen, added: “As a Group, we are committed to increasing access to specialist housing across the North West. It is important for us that the homes we build meet the current and future needs of the people who call our properties home.
“The completion of Harpers Green has been a key priority for Torus throughout the year as there is significant demand for high-quality homes for older people in Warrington and given the pandemic and multiple lockdowns, ensuring future residents had a safe place to call home was vital. Through investing in affordable schemes such as Harpers Green, we are laying the foundations for our tenants to thrive and live well.”
The project marks the first scheme procured under the JV North Framework and is the 8th extra care scheme that Anwyl Partnerships has carried out.
