IoD launches search for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire chair
The Institute of Directors (IoD) is seeking a new chair to become its voice of business for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire branch is the largest in the East Midlands with more than 500 members. The new chair will provide connections, professional development and influence for directors across a wide range of organisations.
The successful candidate will also represent the views and experiences of directors within the IoD’s influential Policy Voice programme which directly feeds back to government.
The IoD has secured vital support for directors during the Covid-19 pandemic, including financial assistance for wage bills and changes to insolvency rules. Government reform to help directors blighted by late payments also followed lobbying by the IoD.
Natalie Sykes, IoD Head of English branches, said: “The successful candidate will be an important figurehead for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire businesses at this very challenging time.
“They will be a dynamic and forward-thinking leader, inspiring our members to rebuild and recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Gary Headland, IoD East Midlands chair, said: “Our Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire branch has a very strong membership. We are seeking a new chair who can lead our members’ activities in supporting each other and the wider business community in both counties as we seek to recover in the months ahead.”
