Contractor named on £20m Boho X digital hub project in Teesside
A contractor has been selected to create a new building as part of a multi-million pound office scheme in Middlesbrough.
BAM Construction has been appointed by Middlesbrough Council to create the new £20m Boho X building in the heart of the town.
Working with developer Beijing Construction Engineering Group, BAM Construction will deliver the new seven-storey building, which will comprise 60,000 sq ft of grade A office space for the digital and creative sectors.
Tony Fitzgerald, construction director for BAM in the North East, commented: “We have been helping Middlesborough develop and price the stage two design, and now designs are settled we look forward to being able to bring our market leading skills and experience to this exciting scheme.
“Boho X has been designed with sustainability at its heart, maximising the use of renewable technologies, envisaging a significant reduction in carbon emissions and creating leading wellbeing facilities including a swimming pool and gym.
“Our ability to integrate development, design, construction and managing facilities gives us market-leading capabilities to deliver highly sustainable buildings and - given the significance of this scheme - it enables us to be leaders in digital construction.”
