Over 30 education groups across UK express interest in innovative teacher recruitment app

Premier Teachers has been invited to demonstrate its innovative teacher recruitment app to more than 30 organisations made up of local education authorities and schools across the UK.

The user-friendly app – designed to transform the recruitment and retention of teachers – is attracting significant interest following its initial launch last year in the trial areas of London and the North East of England.

It is hoped that a positive reaction to the demonstrations of the Evolve Teachers app over the next few months will hasten its introduction to the rest of the UK.

The tailor-made system simplifies the entire recruitment process by allowing applicants to make a simple one-click application using a single form for multiple posts via mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.

It also provides schools and local education authorities with a searchable database of motivated applicants that exactly match their criteria, making the process more cost effective.

Former teacher Mike Donnelly, who founded Premier Teachers in 2013, said: “There has been a positive reaction to the app in London and the North East and it’s tremendously encouraging that it is attracting so much interest across the UK.

“Many other local education authorities and schools are now keen to see how it can transform what is traditionally a time-consuming and overly complicated recruitment process, which often requires the filling out of a separate form for each post applied for.”

The Evolve Teachers app also alerts applicants to roles matching their criteria using push notifications sent directly to the phone screen. It also features a dashboard that allows users to chart the progress of their application, indicating reference take up and interview selection.

The independent Sunderland-based education recruitment company, which also provides teachers and support staff to schools, colleges, and academies across the North East, also reports an increase in the quality of candidates it is attracting.

This is due in large part to the firm developing strategic partnerships with universities and the fact its services were recently featured by the magazine of the National Education Union, which has 450,000 members.

Mike added: “We are definitely seeing an increase in the quality of candidates wishing to enter the teaching profession, as well as a rise in the number of supply teachers, whose roles have sadly been reduced during lockdown.”
