Leading North East Mental Health Service Provider Appoints New Chief Executive

North East based specialist mental health and wellbeing service provider, Concern Group, has appointed Adam Crampsie as its new chief executive.

Most recently, Mr Crampsie was the Managing Director of Bloom Procurement Services which in 2019 delivered over £28 million of social value, leading them to win the Highest Climber Award in the North East Top 200 companies list, and the High Growth & Ambition Award at the North East Business Awards in 2020.

The appointment of Mr Crampsie follows the decision of CEO Brendan Hill to step down from the role after 17 years.

Mr Crampsie is a mental health clinician by background and his experience spans the private, public, and charity sectors, having started his career working for the NHS where he undertook senior management and leadership roles.

He later joined Nuffield Health, being responsible for clinical services across the group, a role where he focused on reinvesting financial success back into healthcare improvements through a range of initiatives and projects.

Mr Crampsie aims to make a considerable impact at Concern, drawing upon his commercial experience and social value in the private sector by now applying it to a charitable area.

Concern Group, based in Newcastle, is made up of two organisations – Mental Health Concern, a charity that provides specialist mental health services across the North East, and Insight Healthcare, which delivers Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services nationwide.

Upon his appointment, Mr Crampsie said: “I am thrilled to join Concern Group as the organisation’s new Chief Executive. Mr Crampsie’s appointment comes at a time of change in the mental health service as the NHS looks to provide an increasingly integrated approach across services to ensure anyone who needs support with their mental health can access it quickly and efficiently.
