UK law firm opens Newcastle office to support industrial asbestos cases
A UK law firm has announced that it is opening a new office in Newcastle as it expands into the North East.
Leigh Day, which specialises in industrial disease cases, is opening a new office on Newcastle’s Quayside, initially aiming to help people who are suffering with asbestos-related illnesses.
From its new office at Rotterdam House, Leigh Day will seek to support North East asbestos charity Readley Asbestos and national charity Mesothelioma UK.
The new site is set to be operational from the middle of February this year.
Daniel Easton, Leigh Day’s joint head of asbestos litigation, said: “Leigh Day is committed to obtaining justice for the thousands of workers and their families throughout the North East affected by occupational disease and injury, especially asbestos related disease.
“The shipbuilding industry means it is a region particularly blighted by problems caused by asbestos.
“Opening a Newcastle office means we can provide a closer personal service to our clients and better represent people in the North East.”
