Teesside International welcomes Yorkshire aviation support business to new onsite offices

A Yorkshire aviation support business has signed a deal which will see it expand into a North East airport.

Teesside International announced today (12 February) that it will see Thirsk aviation support firm Cyrrus establish a new office at the airport.

Cyrrus’ office will be focused on services designing airspace take-off and landing route plans, as well as its airport safeguarding.

As part of the partnership, Cyrrus will create three new skilled roles, as well as helping to ensure that all of the extra flight activity associated with the airport’s ten-year turnaround plan is smoothly integrated with the current systems.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “This is yet another vote of confidence in our airport.

“I’ve always said for our airport to be the success we all want it to be, it has to be about more than summer holiday flights and business connections, as important as these are. This announcement once again shows the huge potential our airport has.

“Not only is Cyrrus expanding and opening a new office, it will also work with our amazing and hugely talented air traffic control team to help them manage Teesside International’s airspace.

“It will also provide another string to our bow for other aviation businesses looking to base themselves at our airport.

“This deal will do for our operations what our massive terminal redevelopment is doing for the passenger experience in making the airport fit for the 21st century and beyond, and I look forward to a long, productive partnership.”
