Experienced duo joins senior team at PHX

Regional training provider PHX Training has strengthened its management team with two senior appointments.

Jordan Hilton and Junaid Mamoojee have joined the company as business managers, taking on responsibility for leading teams at centres in Cumbria and Lancashire.

With 12 years’ experience in leadership and management, Jordan will oversee PHX’s Carlisle centre, while Junaid has been appointed to head up the company’s Blackpool base. He brings over 10 years’ experience in management and customer service.

Briony Fawcett, managing director of PHX Training, said: “These senior appointments have come at an important time for PHX, with the company having recently been selected by the government to deliver the Kickstart programme in the coming months.

“In these incredibly difficult times and with the challenges being faced due to the impact of Covid, more people need our help to grow their skillset or find employment than before. Both Jordan and Junaid are well equipped with the expertise and experience required to provide effective leadership to their teams and ensure delivery of the highest level of support to our learners.”

Jordan said: “It really appealed to me that PHX Training is a family business. My focus in this role will be to build positive relationships with the team and our learners while inspiring them to achieve their goals, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Junaid said: “I love the culture at PHX, and I am very passionate about helping to build successful futures, so it’s a perfect match. I’ll be working to motivate my team to continue going above and beyond in order to accomplish the right outcomes for our customers.”

PHX Training delivers government-backed initiatives, adult skills, NEET (not in education, employment or training), employability contracts, apprenticeships and work-based learning programmes.

The Kickstart scheme provides funding to employers to create new six-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. Under the current guidelines, businesses which create fewer than 30 new Kickstart jobs must apply for their funding through a gateway organisation such as PHX Training.

The company specialises in apprenticeship qualifications in business administration skills, offering learners skills for roles such as office executive, office supervisor, membership administrator and personal administrator. Apprenticeships delivered by PHX also include team leading, customer service, hospitality, management and warehousing across the North West.

The PHX team of qualified trainers also offers a diverse range of resources including offline, online and face-to-face services at six training centres in Barrow, Carlisle, Workington, Morecambe, Preston and Blackpool.
