Boost for Sunderland hydrogen project as Sheffield engineers take up contract

A Yorkshire engineering group has today announced that it has secured a Sunderland hydrogen contract as it aims to expand global refuelling infrastructure.

Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC), owned by specialist engineering group Pressure Technologies, has agreed upon a contract with Haskel Hydrogen Group to supply steel hydrogen storage vessels.

The vessels will be used in three new Sunderland Hydrogen Refuelling Stations (HRS), and are expect to last for more than 100 years.

The contract will be delivered over the course of this summer, and CSC and Haskel have said that they are committed to investment and expansion in global refuelling infrastructure for hydrogen-based mobility.
