173 new homes to be built at “exceptional” County Durham location
Plans for a new residential development in County Durham have been submitted by a North East-based housebuilder.
Developer Cussins has submitted plans for 173 new homes at a “highly desirable” site in Darlington.
If plans are approved, the family business will build a selection of two, three, four and five-bedroomed homes at West Park Garden Village.
A new link road will also be built to serve the Cussins development and future phases of the Garden Village. The Village will include 1,200 homes in total and extensive landscaping, footpaths and cycleways as well as a potential school.
Cussins’ Planning director, David Brocklehurst, commented: “It has been an ambition of ours to find a suitable site in Darlington for some time now.
“We like to develop in exceptional locations which can provide our homebuyers with a high quality of life and West Park fits that bill, perfectly.
“We were attracted to the site by the ethos of the landowner, who has an ambitious vision to create a highly desirable place to live, promoting green transport, natural recreation and a socially responsible community, with excellent transport links.”
