North East and Yorkshire firms acquired as agricultural group expands across UK
A Welsh agricultural specialist has expanded operations in North and East of England with two new acquisitions.
Wynnstay Group has acquired the agricultural division of North East-based Armstrong Richardson Group as well as Goole-based HGBF.
Founded in 1925, Armstrong Richardson Group is a family-owned business that supplies a range of agricultural inputs for arable and livestock farmers, in particular seed, fertiliser and feed, together with grain trading services.
The fertiliser manufacturing business and assets of HELM Great Britain Limited, part of German multinational chemicals company HELM Group, HGBF is based at the inland Port of Howden on the River Ouse and produces and wholesales blended fertiliser.
Gareth Davies, chief executive officer of Wynnstay Group, commented: “These are highly complementary acquisitions, which expand our presence on the eastern side of the country, and add modern blended-fertiliser production facilities.
“They bring new customers to the Group and staff with significant experience and local knowledge. We are delighted to welcome them to Wynnstay, and look forward to working with them to develop the opportunities ahead.”
