TikTok invests in UK long-term with new London office
Social media network TikTok has announced that it has agreed on a deal for a new office building in London.
TikTok UK, owned by international technology business Bytedance, has leased the entire Kaleidoscope building above Farringdon East Crossrail Station.
The 88,500 sq ft building, let by property developer Helical, will be home to TikTok for the next 10 to 15 years.
TikTok is aiming to move into the building in early 2022, housing around 850 UK employees.
Matthew Bonning-Snook, property director at Helical, commented: “We set out to deliver an architecturally striking and characterful building that would suit the fast growing creative and tech companies that are attracted to this highly accessible location.
“Kaleidoscope offers this together with excellent tenant amenities including a spectacular roof terrace and strong environmental credentials, thereby clearly responding to today’s requirements for wellness and sustainability.
“As a platform for billions of creators worldwide, TikTok is a perfect business for both the building and the area’s ambition to be a destination for culture and creativity.”
Property agents JLL and Pilcher London advised the landlord on the letting.
