Investment fund supports construction of new £5m Barnsley industrial scheme
A Yorkshire investment fund is supporting the construction of a new £5m warehouse development in Barnsley.
The Barnsley Property Investment Fund, which has helped to facilitate more than 400,000 square feet of commercial property development since 2014, will support the expansion of Everill Gate Business Park in Wombwell.
Everill Gate Business Park will add more than 54,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse development to the already established commercial location.
Existing manufacturing occupiers of the park include Cranswick Convenience Food, Freshpak Chilled Foods, and Coal Regeneration Trust.
Cllr Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture at Barnsley Borough Council, said: “We are extremely excited to see the new development at Everill Gate Business Park progressing.”
He continued: “These new premises will help entice new businesses to the borough, support the expansion of existing businesses and help the council to continue to grow the local economy.
“We’re supporting the development as part of the second phase of our nationally recognised Property Investment Fund programme”.
