Online bathroom retailer announces record sales increase in 20th year
An online bathroom retailer has announced a record sales increase at the close of its 20th year of trading.
Victoria Plum, which is headquartered in Doncaster announced that its sales rose by 46 per cent to a total of £103m for the year ended 28 February.
Its EBITDA also increased by 115 per cent to £4.5m and the company took on 49 new staff over the year, while its website users increased by 165 per cent to 23.2m.
Victoria Plum was acquired by Leeds private equity fund Endless in October 2019, and since then has launched a bathroom design and installation service which has created higher value transactions and, according to the company, enhanced customer relationships.
Paul McClenaghan, chief executive of Victoria Plum, said: “We have an ambitious growth strategy, highly capable people throughout the company and a collective determination to further accelerate our rate of expansion.
“These latest record results validate our approach and provide us with the platform to progress our plans at pace.”
He continued: “We are confident that we will continue to grow at speed. Our market fundamentals are strong, we have the necessary scalable infrastructure in place and a clearly differentiated design and installation service that is experiencing rapidly increasing demand.”
