Dorset housebuilder ensures schoolchildren have the Easter they deserve this year
Barratt Homes is making sure Easter is eggs-tra special for local schoolchildren in Dorset.
The five star housebuilder donated £70 worth of Asda vouchers to enable schools to purchase nearly 70 Easter eggs for the pupils at Bearwood Primary and Nursery School in Bournemouth.
Barratt also donated an Amazon voucher worth £150, so that the school could offer a prize to the children, allowing them to treat themselves to something a little extra special after a tough year.
Plus, the housebuilder has donated money to the Dorset school for some extra learning resources, worth nearly £200, in its early years base – something else that is sure to be a hit with the schoolchildren.
Last Easter was eclipsed by Covid and the subsequent lockdown, so Barratt Homes wanted to make a gesture that would make sure this year, Easter would be a full-on Egg-stravaganza.
Bearwood Primary School teacher, Kate Gunstone, said is extremely grateful for the support from Barratt, which was arranged through Anthony Dimmick, Barratt Homes Community Liaison Manager.
She said: “It has been such a difficult year for our children as they’ve faced the mental health impact of routine changes and lack of connection with their peers. This Easter boost from Barratt Homes is just what they all need. When we told the children, they were really excited and we are so grateful for the continued support to our school – thank you.”
Anthony Dimmick, is thrilled that the housebuilder was able to step in this Easter, and said: “The impact the Covid crisis has had an impact on children everywhere. They’ve been home schooled, separated from family and friends and they’ve missed out on a lot.
“We wanted to make sure Easter didn’t pass by unnoticed this year, which is why we have asked the Easter Bunny to make a special stop at Bearwood.
“We are committed to help the communities we develop in, and in such a challenging time, our support is needed more than ever.”
Barratt Homes has offered help to a number of local schools and organisations which improve the quality of life of those living in the region as part of the Barratt Homes Community Fund.
The housebuilder is bringing new homes across Dorset, including at Quarter Jack Park in Wimborne, Canford Paddock in Canford, Lakeside Walk in Hamworthy and Compass Point in Swanage.
