Global sustainable innovation platform to support UK entrepreneurs with central London hub

A global platform for sustainable and social innovation is set to launch in the heart of London this summer.

The Mills Fabrica - the innovation arm of Hong Kong property regeneration project The Mills - is set to launch in King’s Cross in June.

Based in the heart of the King’s Cross tech district, The Mills Fabrica will open Cottam House, a three-storey Victorian warehouse comprising 11,383 sq ft situated in the Regent Quarter.

The Mills Fabrica’s London base will feature a startup incubator, investment platform, labs, strategic collaborations, a membership-driven co-working space, alongside a curated programme of cultural and industry events, an experiential retail space and café.

For its cross-border tech incubation programme spanning both Asia and the UK, The Mills Fabrica will focus on the fashion and food industries with an emphasis on sustainable innovations, helping SMEs to find ways to eliminate waste.

The Mills’ founder Vanessa Cheung commented: “We are excited to be opening our doors in the UK. Over the past year it has been a pleasure to work with our various international partners in this region be it universities, retailers or other incubators and investors.

“With this new expansion, we look forward to working with new and current partners in building out an international community of innovators and to continue to support these innovators to take their ideas to market.”

The Mills Fabrica head of UK, Christian Layolle, added: “We like to describe ourselves as ‘ecosystem builders.’
