Independent skate brand and youth club partner to launch 'experiential' Covent Garden store
An independent skate shop and cult brand have merged to launch a flagship experiential store in central London’s Covent Garden.
The Mercer’s Company today announced that No Chaos and Scum will operate under one roof, within a 2,000 sq ft unit at 3 Neal Street, offering a blend of retail space and interactive event areas across two floors.
Featuring a half-pipe skate ramp, a selection of custom-made branded arcade games and a coffee bar - complete with the wallpaper from Al Pacino’s Scarface – Scum’s experiential basement space will be bookable online for sessions and private events to ensure a safe and Covid-19 secure system.
Designed by Jordan Cardy, the young English artist behind Scum, the basement of the store will also act as a youth club in the heart of the West End.
No Chaos’ retail store, located on the first floor, will offer a vast range of apparel, skateboards and accessories from popular skate brands around the world. Exclusive-to-store limited edition drops from Scum will also be available, amongst its full product range.
Jamie Wilson, co-founder of No Chaos, said: “We are incredibly proud of the space we have created in our new home on Neal Street and are excited to finally – and safely – welcome everyone into our much-anticipated interactive store.
“The vision for Scum’s basement was to construct a creative and energetic skating location for beginners and professionals alike, offering a place to learn, explore and play. Covent Garden is an intensively imaginative location within the capital, and we’re happy to be joining the area.”
Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company, said: “No Chaos and Scum are brilliant additions to our estate within Covent Garden, and we are thrilled to be growing our experiential offer to welcome Londoners back after a challenging year.
“The unique basement installation offers an exceptional interactive and cultural location in the heart of London and will no doubt be a footfall driver for visitors to the area.”
