Housebuilder supports local families with £1,000 donation to Leeds charity
Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, has donated £1,000 to an important charity in Leeds which supports families by fundraising for life-saving equipment for a local hospital unit.
The chosen cause, the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund aims to support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit in being a world class centre of excellence by providing funding and resources needed to care for a patient’s heart, mind, family and future.
The Leeds-based charity relies on donations from the local businesses, communities and individuals, with previous funding going towards welcome packs to families who stay on the children’s heart ward, new HD head cameras for surgeons and an MRI Baby Pod to be used at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit.
Barratt Developments Yorkshire East’s Community Fund initiative sees the housebuilder support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 of funding to an important local charity each month.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East commented: “The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund does a truly fantastic job in raising money for vital equipment to help those in need at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit. We hope that our Community Fund donation will help to enhance the important work that the charity does and help it to enhance the fantastic facilities it offers to our community.”
Ellie Brown, Fundraising Manager at Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen for the very kind donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire East. The funds will really make a difference to the families we support.”
