Green light for new 2.58-acre industrial site in County Durham
The site of a former office block in County Durham is set to be transformed into a new industrial development.
Developer, asset and property manager, FI Real Estate Management (FIREM), has secured planning permission from Durham County Council to redevelop a 2.58-acre site on Bracken Hill Business Park in Peterlee.
Once home to the former Gemini office block - which has since been demolished - the site is set to become a new industrial scheme.
Comprising nine units ranging between 5,400 sq ft and 7,400 sq ft, the development will create a total of 55,475 sq ft of new commercial space, and will include 80 car parking spaces.
A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management commented: “This decision is great news for the site itself and for the local economy.
“Having assessed the market we feel confident that these small industrial units will better serve the demands of regional businesses.
“Our extensive experience within the industrial sector also tells us that high quality spaces won’t sit around vacant for long. The current market is crying out for high quality commercial units and that is exactly what we’ll be delivering here in Peterlee.”
