Durham kitchen and bathroom firm reports "steady growth" with £1m turnover
A North East bathroom and kitchen specialist has announced that it is seeing “steady growth” after growing its team and turnover.
APL Interiors, headquartered in Durham, reported that its turnover reached £1m in 2020, 13 years after its establishment.
The company has also more than tripled its team from five to 18 over the past seven years at its Drum Industrial Estate base.
It said that its plans for the future include introducing renewable heating systems as part of the kitchen and bathroom design and fitting service.
Noel McCullum, founder and managing director of APL Interiors, commented: “Being based on the Drum Estate was key to growing the business.
“Relocating was perfect for us as the unit is large enough for us to home our multiple showrooms while having modern office space for staff, and the location is perfect for customers to visit us as it is just a stone’s throw away from the M1.
“Positioning ourselves at the forefront of professional kitchen and bathroom design and planning and having a team of dedicated installers providing a personal, professional fitting service has underpinned our success.
“I am really proud to have been able to create employment opportunities during the pandemic and while it did slow us down somewhat, we have remained superior as standard and offer great value for the consumer, both of which have driven our steady growth.
“It is a very exciting time for the business, and we’ve been fortunate to have a fantastic team working with us over the years and have great partners as our suppliers and manufacturers. We’re really looking forward to another great 13 years.”
