Fresh pasta specialist to bring taste of Italy to Metrocentre with new eatery
An independent pasta restaurant has announced the opening of its second venue next week.
Zucchini is set to open the doors to its newest restaurant in the Qube at the Metrocentre in Gateshead on May 17 (Monday).
Founded in 2016 by Newcastle chef Alan Barker, Zucchini specialises in fresh hand-rolled Northern Italian style egg pasta dishes.
The new Metrocentre venue, which is the firm’s second after its Newcastle city centre eatery, will offer a range of artisanal fresh pasta dishes.
Founder of Zucchini Pasta Bar, Alan Barker, commented: “We are super excited to be bringing Zucchini Pasta Bar to such an iconic destination as the Metrocentre. The freshest hand rolled pasta, served in a few minutes, at an affordable price point is what we’re all about and it’s perfect for the centre.
“Our independently owned fresh mono concept began in Newcastle city centre and branching out to Metrocentre naturally feels like the next step for us. The team and I are really looking forward to serving our fresh artisan dishes to shoppers in Gateshead.”
Ben Cox, senior asset manager for Sovereign Centros, added: “The arrival of Zucchini Pasta Bar at Metrocentre is an exciting addition to the Qube.
“Our shoppers have been telling us that they want local independent operators, as well as big national brands, so we’re sure the introduction of Zucchini will be a hit. Their innovative menu will bring a new dining experience to the centre and we can’t wait to try it.”
