Natural wine shop and bar launches £15k crowdfund for move to Huddersfield Archway
A Yorkshire natural wine shop and bar has announced that it is planning to expand into a new site as it launches a £15k crowdfunding campaign.
Kwas, based in Huddersfield, is planning to move to a new site in the railway arch buildings in July this year.
This comes after its sales increased by 80 per cent from the beginning of the UK’s first lockdown, when it launched new delivery options and veg box subscriptions.
The new Kwas site will include a bar space, deli, kitchen and permanent grocery store at the Archway Three site in Huddersfield, with the proceeds from the crowdfund supporting the refurbishment of the space.
Duncan Sime, co-founder of Kwas, commented: “We’ve loved our home in Kwas One and have many happy memories here over the last two and a bit years but we really feel now is the time to step things up and move to the kind of site we need to really realise our dream for what Kwas can be.
“Through their amazing support over the last year of the pandemic, it’s clear to us that plenty of people in Kirklees are fully onboard with the kind of place we’re offering and we can’t wait to build an even bigger place for our community!”
