International firm set to take the lead on 61-home Middlesbrough development
An international regeneration specialist has announced that it will be the lead builder on a new 61-home development in the North East.
ENGIE has been appointed to the £6.5m Boho Village project by Middlesbrough Development Company and development manager Bright Ideas.
The new energy-efficient development will be constructed next to 10 existing homes, creating 45 apartments and 16 houses.
The project, which will also create green spaces and paths, is set for completion in summer 2022.
Louise Buckton, new build director at ENGIE, commented: “We are delighted to be breaking ground on the Boho Village project alongside the Middlesbrough Development Company and Bright Ideas, and we are looking forward to working closely with them both.
“Using Air Source Heat Pumps to heat homes and provide hot water will benefit residents in lowering their energy bills and reducing their carbon footprint.
“ENGIE is committed to making a Zero Carbon future happen, and we’re pleased to bring our expertise to this development and introduce the use of low carbon heating systems in Middlesbrough.”
Tony Dodds, managing director of Middlesbrough Development Company, said: “Working with Bright Ideas and ENGIE on building Boho Village is another big step forward in developing a vibrant community in Middlehaven with smart, modern accommodation and top-class office space.
“We’re also very pleased that all the houses and apartments will be heated using Air Source Heat Pumps.
“We support any initiatives that will help reduce the town’s carbon footprint and future residents will also benefit from reduced heating bills as well as the knowledge that they are doing their bit to support the environment.”
