"New lease of life" for former Newcastle bank as property firm unveils £2m refurbishment plans
Plans have been revealed for the £2m refurbishment of a listed Newcastle building to create new office space in the city.
Naylors Gavin Black, a commercial property consultancy, is planning to refurbish Churchill House, a former bank.
The building, on the corner of Mosley Street and Dean Street, will be transformed into a multi-let office building.
Initial repairs to some of the stonework have already been completed, with main refurbishment work set to begin at the beginning of next year, completing in October 2022.
Scott Clarke, associate partner at Naylors Gavin Black, commented: “This is a prestigious project that will see the transformation of an important city centre site.
“Our plans for the refurbishment are ambitious and herald a new lease of life for this grand and prominent building.”
Chris Pearson, Naylors Gavin Black partner, said: “Despite the pandemic, we are seeing high levels of enquiries for good quality office accommodation, particularly for smaller suites with first class services and facilities.
“Churchill House will help to meet this demand, providing excellent, readily available accommodation in a great city location.”
