Plans approved for hundreds of new homes at East London development

Plans have been approved for the creation of a 274 home affordable housing development in London.

Muse Developments, which specialises in repurposing town and city centres, along with housing provider, Poplar HARCA, have gained approval from London Borough of Tower Hamlets development committee for the new development.

The Bromley-by-Bow site, on Stroudley Walk, will create 274 homes, with a 51 per cent affordable housing provision.

The plans, designed by Regeneration Masterplan Architects (RMA), include a new pocket park and part-pedestrianised street, with business and retail spaces.

Rebecca Lewis, senior development manager at Muse Developments, commented: “Our development at Stroudley Walk with Poplar HARCA, provides a real opportunity for us to provide much-needed affordable homes coupled with extensive public realm upgrades, to create a diverse and safe place for all.

“This site in Bromley-by-Bow has had a lengthy history and has unfortunately been neglected over the years.

“However, it can now look forward to a truly bright future with a scheme that brings investment, new homes and business opportunities right into the heart of the community.”
