Plans submitted for ‘sustainable’ zero-carbon Sheffield developments
A duo of sustainable developments have been put forward in South Yorkshire.
Developer Grantside has submitted planning applications for two new developments in Sheffield.
The firm has put forward new office proposals on Charles and Norfolk Streets in the city centre and co-living and co-working space at Bowling Green Street at Kelham Island.
Plans for the city centre site include retail space at the ground floor, alongside reception space. Nine floors of office space will incorporate modern features befitting of high-end offices, such as external terraced spaces
The Hive Central development at Bowling Green Street aims to deliver a new concept of co-living and working space.
The development will comprise commercial spaces alongside shared facilities, covered courtyard, private apartments with a shared rooftop terrace.
Grantside CEO Steve Davis commented: “Low impact and sustainable development is a core principle of Grantside and for me personally. It is central to everything that we do. These are two exceptional and contrasting projects which, if approved, will deliver significant new employment and homes within Sheffield.
“It’s unusual for one company to have two ambitious, high quality and high profile projects reach fruition at the same time in the same city, but we are delighted to be making this double investment.
“Sheffield is an evolving and growing city, and we are seeing serious demand for new office space in the city centre, and live/work artisan space in the fantastic Kelham Island district. We look forward to working with Sheffield City Council as these proposals progress.”
