Recording studio of Adele fame transformed into ‘boutique’ residential development

A London recording studio that once welcomed a raft of artists and bands has been converted into a new residential development.

Old Dairy House in Kendal Rise has been transformed into a ‘boutique’ apartment collection on behalf of developer Fruition Properties.

Located at 133 Kilburn Lane just north of Portobello Market, the site was home to a recording studio that worked with the likes of rock band U2 and singer Adele.

Following its transformation, the development comprises 16 one, two and three apartments, each with a private balcony or decked terrace.

The three and a half storey building has expanses of glazing, with flexible commercial space on the ground floor, alongside a green residents’ courtyard and a landscaped communal roof terrace.

Mani Khiroya, CEO of Fruition Properties, commented: “The Kensal Rise area has been quietly developing over the past few years to become one of London’s up and coming hotspots.

“This will be further bolstered by the forthcoming Kensal Corridor transport and public realm proposals led by Brent Council and TFL.”

“Our site at 133 Kilburn Lane is well placed to benefit from these improvements, while playing its own part in the revitalisation of the area to provide outstanding new homes and key employment space.”

The collection of apartments is now being brought to market by selling agent DEXTERS. Matthew Leitch, new homes director at DEXTERS, added: “Old Dairy House is a fantastic transformation of the historic site into stylish new homes, with an interesting history as both a dairy farm and then as successful recording studios for sell-out musicians.

“The new development has been beautifully designed to complement the local Victorian architecture with a charming brick façade.

“Kensal Rise is a vibrant, innovative community and Old Dairy House offers great new homes, ideal for those who want to enjoy the artisan shops, cafes and creative lifestyle on their doorstep.”
