Employee Engagement Consultancy Makes Eight New Hires

Employee engagement specialist, scarlettabbott, has welcomed eight new team members following a period of major client growth, as more UK businesses invest in ‘future of work’ initiatives to support employees’ wellbeing.

The York-based consultancy specialises in employee engagement with all of their work underpinned by the disciplines of behavioural science, digital transformation, diversity and inclusion, and creative storytelling.

In the wake of the change the pandemic has brought to UK business, many business leaders are now focusing on employee wellbeing, internal comms and hybrid working models for the long-term - with seven in ten believing employee engagement is crucial to business success.

Speaking on the investment in new hires that has been made across the business, scarlettabbott managing director, Jeremy Petty, believes its growth is down to how it is supporting businesses to understand and act on what feels like 10 years’ worth of change, in just the last 12 months, he says;

“Businesses have had a lot to process during the past year. Whereas a year ago it was about making important decisions for the short-term, now businesses we are partnering with are looking at the medium to long-term. A lot of the conversations we are having and new work we are delivering are around ‘future of work’ initiatives.

“This can look different for different companies based on their cultures, digital transformation plans, physical location and ambitions around hybrid working. But no matter the type of business, or the sector they operate in, at the crux of all these conversations is wellbeing and looking after their people. They recognise just how important employee engagement is, not just to attract and retain the best talent, but because they genuinely care about the welfare of their teams. Without a doubt, the past year has shown how vital it is for organisations to recognise, reward and reinforce the importance of their people.

“There are many organisations too that perhaps didn’t have employee engagement as high on their agenda, but with teams working from home and remote locations, they are realising why it is fundamental to their commercial success. And this is part of why we have seen such major client growth, while many of our existing partners have tapped into our expertise to help create better worlds of work for their people.”

Scarlettabbott’s growth follows a busy start to the year which saw the consultancy win five new clients across food and drink, finance and entertainment sectors, added to significant account growth from their existing clients.

New hires have joined scarlettabbott right across the business including in the creative, consultancy, project management and business support teams.

Monika Beniusiene has joined the team as head of business development. Previously managing director at internal comms agency Headlines, Monika brings a wealth of industry knowledge and will focus on building upon the consultancy’s past year of rapid client growth.

Laura Hutchinson, HR Manager, joins from her previous role at the charity Family Fund, while motion graphics designer Teri Edge brings her animation flair to the creative team, meeting growing client demand for cutting-edge visual storytelling.

The consultancy team has been further strengthened with the appointment of senior consultant Justin Bateman, and consultants Jess Gomm and Hester Lonergan, former communications partner at Co-op. The line-up of new faces is completed by new Project Managers Lucy Stead and Goda Pilibaityte, former internal communications project manager for Lidl, Lithuania.

Jeremy continues:

“We’re delighted that, through our focus on deepening our partnerships with our key clients, together with some new client wins, we’ve been able to create so many new roles, further strengthening our expertise and delivery across the team.”
