Expansion for Yorkshire finance firm with first North East office

A Yorkshire finance firm has announced that it is moving ahead with “ambitious” expansion plans as it opens its first North East office.

ABL, based in Cleckheaton, is aiming to establish five regional bases by 2022, with the first being a new Durham location.

The Durham offices open this month, allowing ABL’s team to provide a range of options to businesses in the area.

Andy Redman, joint managing director and co-founder at ABL Business, commented: “The rise of the brand on the national stage will further support the team in providing exemplary advice to businesses on a local and regional level — utilising our deep understanding and collective insight into the UK’s commercial finance landscape.

“Local knowledge is crucial when it comes to building strong partnerships. When combined, our national training programme, share of knowledge, and access to the whole of the market from a funder perspective cements ABL as the finance intermediary of choice.”

Jonathan Barber, regional managing director for the North East office, said: “ABL is fast becoming notable in the UK finance industry.

“As such, I’m thrilled to be coming on board to develop additional partnerships within the region and to work closely with businesses and their advisors — and to contribute the learnings gained here to the wider team, which can then be applied on a country-wide basis.

“With my particular expertise in VAT and tax funding — alongside my experienced colleagues’ specialisms in other key areas — I’m keen to get started on supporting businesses in the North East to reach their potential.”
