Tailor finds perfect fit with first standalone store at London's West End
A London tailor has announced that he is opening his first standalone store in the middle of the West End.
Joshua Millard, whose store is of the same name, has agreed a deal with West End real estate specialist Shaftesbury to take a two floor space at Marlborough Court in Carnaby.
This follows Joshua’s stint at a Carnaby X London College of Fashion residency through the Kingly Street Tailors competition, with the tailor now upsizing to his own space.
The store will collaborate with independent tailors, seamstresses and mills across the UK and Europe.
Samantha Bain-Mollison, retail director at Shaftesbury, commented: “We are delighted to announce that Joshua has opened the doors to his first standalone store at 1 Marlborough Court.
“Having been awarded the residency through the Carnaby x London College of Fashion: Kingly Street Tailors competition, we are proud that Joshua has now upsized to his own space and we are looking forward to seeing what comes next for his business.”
Joshua said: “I want the shop environment to echo the sensibilities of the British countryside through rich texture and materials, yet balanced with clean lines, palette and comfort.
“I’m grateful to Shaftesbury for giving me the opportunity to upsize my business and open my first store in Carnaby.”
