This week's North East appointments
Nathan Hall, SES Engineering Services (SES)
Engineering specialist, SES Engineering Services (SES) has appointed Nathan Hall as pre-construction manager.
Based at SES’ Royal Quays office in North Tyneside, Nathan will be the link between the firm’s customers and SES during the pre-construction period.
Nathan will have responsibility for working jointly with the wider business functions including estimating, design, the operations and delivery team and SES’ offsite manufacturing facility Prism.
Bringing 20 years of experience to the role, Nathan began his career as a mechanical engineering technician, gaining experience with subsequent roles over the years as a design manager, bid manager and estimating manager before becoming pre-construction manager.
Nathan commented: “SES is a leading MEP specialist with a wide client base, working across multiple sectors. The company is well resourced, has a great reputation and is ambitious for success, being recognised for its strong work winning and delivery team within the industry.
“As pre-construction manager for the North East and Yorkshire, I know the SES team well from my previous employment and know that I am joining the company at an exciting stage in its growth following an increase in its workload.
“I am very much looking forward to supporting the future success of SES with my wide-ranging experience and enthusiasm for the role.”

Stuart Hill, Bristol Street Motors
Bristol Street Motors SEAT, CUPRA and SKODA Darlington has appointed Stuart Hill as general manager.
Stuart has worked in the motor trade for 31 years, and joins the McMullen Road multi-site dealerships having previously worked with brands including BMW MINI, Landrover and Volvo.
Stuart commented: “I’m delighted to join the Bristol Street Motors SEAT, CUPRA and SKODA Darlington dealerships at such an exciting time for the motor retail sector.
“The last 12 months have taught us a lot and changed the whole industry. Bristol Street Motors is an innovative business, led by a leadership team who I have a great deal of respect for, and has been at the forefront of these changes, leading the way.
“I am joining a great team and a company that values its colleagues and customers. I am looking forward to forging strong working relationships with everyone.”

Leigh Chelton, Surgo Construction (Surgo)
Surgo Construction (Surgo) has appointed Leigh Chelton as business development manager.
Leigh joins Surgo after two decades of experience working in the PR and marketing industry, with a special focus on the client- facing side of construction and the built environment.
Having already forged a professional working relationship with Surgo due to working on its business in her account director role at marketing and public relations consultancy Clothier Lacey & Co, Leigh will be responsible for spearheading the contractor’s business development and growth throughout the region.
Leigh commented: “I am delighted to join the highly experienced and well-respected team at Surgo Construction and have an opportunity to contribute towards the company’s ongoing success.
“There is a buoyancy in the North East construction sector currently, with a steady flow of opportunities coming our way. I hope that by working closely with my network of established contacts and by forging new relationships, to build on this momentum.”

Guy Dowsett, Allies Group
Digital marketing company Allies Group has appointed Guy Dowsett as commercial director.
Guy, originally from London, spent 12 years as fashion advertising director for Bauer Media, looking after flagship titles including FHM.
Guy moved to the North East in 2014 and worked as enterprise account manager at Communicator before joining Visualsoft as an account director.
Allies Group recently launched following the merger of Digital Allies and Remember Media and CEO, Chris March, has brought Guy on board to help develop the business commercially and achieve growth targets over the coming years.
Guy commented: “Allies Group offers a wide range of marketing, content and training solutions all under one roof - a unique proposition in the North East. I’ll be working with our existing customers to ensure they’re utilising all the right services for their business, whilst seeking out relationships with new clients across the country.
“I’ve known Chris [March, CEO] for many years, and following the merger, now is the perfect time for me to join his business.
